KLAW LNG – The world’s first LNG ship-to-ship fuelling operation

In 2017, ENGIE Zeebrugge became the first purpose-built LNG fuelling vessel in the world and is designed to deliver regular ship-to-ship LNG fuelling services under the brand name of Gas4Sea.

ENGIE Zeebrugge fuels all types of shipping customers and vessels with LNG from its home port of Zeebrugge in Belgium. The vessel is jointly owned by ENGIE, Mitsubishi Corporation, NYK Line and Fluxys and has a LNG capacity of 5,000 m3.

KLAW LNG designed and manufactured the LNG transfer and transfer safety system. The project was unique in many aspects of its specification and expected application and contains many firsts – including a new Fall Arrest system design.
